Original & Remix

Original

Remix

As we know this video Single Ladies by Beyonce Knowles symbolizes single woman around the world who demands their way or the high way. In other words, unless they have a ring on it they are technically a free woman. In the original video, Beyonce has a solid gold glove on her left hand which is where a ring supposed to be. She also talks about the life she had in the relationship and a break up in which she is enjoying but in the other hand her ex-spouse is regretting. She decided to move on and her ex-spouse is upset that other guys want her and feels what its like without her in his life. Overall they say "treat a woman to the best things in life" but in reality the finer things isn't diamonds and gold, its love.
In the remix, its different because instead of it being all females like in the original, its all males. The three men in the remix are impersonating beyonce and her two dancers. Towards the ending of the remix, you see a little of user-generator content going on in which the maker of the video doubled each dancers to make it seem like there's two each.. Pretty interesting right ? . .

My Commment On Original And Remix...

Original

Remix.

I chose this remix because this song in my opinion, is much better and more popular than the original by Alicia Keys alone. Drake was the hottest rapper at the time this song was created and adding him to the song made it much more popular. You probably wouldn't hear the original song ever again on radio after the remix was made. What makes this remix better than the original is the little bit of rap that Drake brings into the R&B song. Mixing it up makes it more interesting. Even after Drake's verse, he is still singing along in the background which blends smoothly with Alicia Keys voice.

My Comment-
Who would have ever thought a remix would be more popular than the original? So popular that the original faded into thin air? This Song unthinkable by Alicia Keys is about a female who is ready to move to the next step into a relationship but it afraid of rejection so both young teenagers are trying to avoid the feelings they have for one another.
The remix with Drake, he comes in and adds a twist in which his verse turns into a response to her previous verse. He is letting it be known that he have feelings for her but may not be the one. Both together is basically speaking of their doubts about what they can become. What made this better than the original is that drake combined both r&b and rap which made the song more catchy other than the fact that he is a popular rapper.

  1. I think your comments about the original videos are very deep and descriptive. I agree with your comments. But I think you should focus on describing the remix in more depth. What is the user-generated-content trying to explain? How is it portraying the message in the original video differently? What are the methods being used?

I think these suggestion will help make your comments more self reflective.
